Browsers

This site has been tested using Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Netscape, Firefox and Tablane.

All features work in all browsers; however, the site has been optimised for Internet Explorer. We particularly don't encounter problems with Internet Explorer 6 or above. To find out which version of Internet Explorer you are using follow the instructions below:

Most Common Problems



Pop-up Blockers

For some features of the site you may need to allow Pop Up windows to open. If this is not happening, your:
  • Firewall
  • Browser or
  • Third party browser Internet Explorer tool bars

may be responsible.

If you encounter a Pop-up related problem, please change your settings to allow Pop-ups.

To enable Pop-ups in Internet Explorer

  1. In Internet Explorer, select the "Tools" menu, then "Options..."
  2. In the Internet Options dialog, select the "Security" tab... then
  3. IE Security Tab
  4. Scroll down and click on "disable" under "Use Pop-up Blocker"
  5. Click OK and you are done.disable pop up blocker


To enable Pop-Ups Blocked By Norton Security Center

You can launch Norton Security by clicking on the icon, normally located in the bottom right of your screen, near the system clock.


Solution 1

In the main window, under Norton AntiSpam, click Status & Settings.

In the System Status pane, click Popup Blocking, and then click Turn Off.

Solution 2

If these options are not available, in "Norton Protection Center" (The main Page).

Select  "Web Browsing"

Click On "Pop Up Blocking" and select the desired option.


To enable Pop-Ups Blocked a Third Party Tool bar in Internet Explorer (such as the Google Search Bar.

Find the help menu on the bar and follow the instructions. There may even be a button on the tool bar to turn on and off this feature.



Windows XP Service Pack 2 - Blocked Content Message

In Internet explored, when launching a course you may get the follow message.

Don’t panic, just right click your mouse on the message and select (by clicking the left button on your mouse)  “Allow Blocked Content..”

OPTIONAL: To permanently allow such content (if you so wish):

  1. In Internet Explorer, select the "Tools" menu, then "Options..."
  2. In the Internet Options dialog, select the "Advanced" tab...
  3. Scroll down until you see the "Security" options.  Enable the checkbox "Allow active content to run in files on My Computer".
  4. Close the dialog, and quit Internet Explorer.  The changes will take effect the next time you start IE.

The Blocked Content is a security feature of Windows XP Service Pack 2.  If you do not have SP2 installed, then you will never see this message.
