ICAI CPD
CPD for ICAI members
Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ireland
Members of many professional bodies including members of ICAI choose courses on cpdwise.com as a way of meeting part or all of their CPD obligations.
The guidance on the ICAI website states: "… acceptable CPD activities are expected to develop your professional knowledge, skills and values, and ethics and attitudes, relevant to your current and future work and professional responsibilities. Therefore you need to decide what CPD learning activities are relevant for your personal development. Similarly it is open for you to decide on the approach you wish to adopt in relation to achieving the necessary relevant CPD."
e-Learning is a well-established and very acceptable approach.
The ICAI FAQ goes on to specifically state that CPD is "not reserved to technical matters or skills normally associated with accountancy but can include broader business skills and more sector focused specialisms."
cpdwise.com offers many courses covering broader business skills, financial markets and legal matters.
Institute members in practice need to be aware of their specific obligation to do 10 hours CPD in each of the areas of practice you worked in.
