Majella Twomey BCL., Accredited Mediator.
PROFILE OF MAJELLA TWOMEY, BARRISTER-AT-LAW (Acc Med)
Majella Twomey is a practising barrister and a qualified mediator, with over ten years experience. She has a general practice with a focus on family law and property law. She is a member of the Refugee Appeals Tribunal and regularly hears cases in this forum. In addition to this, she has acted as a documentary Junior Counsel in the inquiry into child abuse in residential institutions (The Laffoy/ Ryan Commission).
Majella is also an experienced law lecturer and has taught Property Law and Conveyancing to students of the Irish Auctioneers & Valuers Institute in Dublin Institute of Technology as well as a number of other subjects to both undergraduates and port-graduate students at Griffith College Dublin. She currently lectures International Asylum Law on the LLM programme and family law on the LLB course.
As Majella is also a qualified journalist, she has published a number of academic articles in a variety of legal periodicals including The Law Society Gazette, The Commercial Law Practitioner and The Irish Business Law Quarterly.
